FP Boys Tennis falls to Heritage Hills 0-5 After a long Holiday Weekend, the Forest Park Boys Tennis team had to lock back into the tennis mindset and head to Heritage Hills. The Rangers were able to surprise some last year and beat the Patriots 3-2, so FP knew that they were out for revenge. FP was not able to do the same thing this year, but had a few good matches. The Rangers 1 Doubles pair of Alex Fischer and Eli Brockman battled against two Seniors from Heritage Hills but were unable to get the job done. Fischer/Brockman duo was up 4-3 in both sets, but lost the next two games in both sets to make them down 4-5. The 1D pair was unable to keep the momentum going and allowed the Patriots to take control. The Rangers had many good rallies and strokes, but the Patriots overheads, strong serves, and ball placements were just a little bit better than FPs. Miles Rea, at 2 Singles, was also able to make his match interesting. Miles, Freshman, battled in both sets to give his opponent, a Junior, some frustrations. Rea struggled serving, but most of his ground strokes made up for his poor serving. Miles was unable to get the job done, but Coach Hochgesang was happy with how he played. At 3 Singles, Junior Clayton Roesner was faced with playing a solid Senior for the Patriots. Schulz from HH had a strong serve and a great forehand to give fits to Roesner. Coach Hochgesang continues to see some improvement in first-year player Roesner though. At 1 Singles, Freshman Jace Brockman was faced with having to play a very strong opponent in Riehle. Riehle, Junior, has been in the HH lineup for the past 3 years and his experience showed. Jace was able to crack some shots back with Riehle, but in the end, HH's 1 Singles was too good. Finally, at 2 Doubles, the Freshman pair of Drew Fischer and Jace Betz had to play a Senior and Sophomore. The Rangers 2D team gave up a lot of volleys to the Patriots, and in the end, the Rangers did not serve well and were unable to keep the match close. Forest Park is back in action at Home on Thursday evening against Evansville Central. Coach Hochgesang is hoping for his team to have a bounce back match and get a solid W.
