Jr. High Tennis falls 2-3 vs. Heritage Hills

Lincoln City, IN - On Monday night, the Jr. High boys tennis team traveled to Heritage Hills, falling 2–3 in varsity play. No. 1 singles, Landon Wirthwein dominated with an 8–0 win, while Trey Benton soon followed with a convincing 8–1 victory at No. 2 singles. In the No. 3 singles spot, Kollin Betz came up short in his varsity match but later bounced back to earn a doubles win in auxiliary play. In varsity doubles, Forest Park’s No. 1 duo, Harrison Gutgsell and Declan Nord, battled hard but fell 5–8. Nord later secured a win in an auxiliary singles match. At No. 2 varsity doubles, the Cedar Crest pairing of Wren Englert and Leo Schaeffer pushed their match all the way to a tiebreaker before narrowly falling 7–8. Additional auxiliary victories for Cedar Crest students included Hudson Sitzman in singles, along with the doubles tandem of 6th grader Ross Fleck and 5th grader Leo Schaeffer. The Rangers will return to action on Tuesday, September 2, when they travel to face county rival Jasper Middle School.
