FP Boys Tennis Falls to Loogootee 1-4 The Forest Park Boys Tennis team traveled back to Loogootee on Wednesday evening to finish their match that they already started on August 19th. The rain put a stop to the boys the first time they traveled to Loogootee, but the Rangers were able to get this match in fully on a beautiful evening. With FP and Loogootee starting where they left off, the Rangers were all starting their matches down in the sets. Having to comeback, the Rangers tried to get the scores closer than what they left them, but most were unable to do that. FP did not play to their potential and ended up losing all 3 Singles positions and the 2 Doubles position. With 4 Freshmen at 1 Singles (Jace Brockman), 2 Singles (Miles Rea), and 2 Doubles (Jace Betz and Drew Fischer), the Rangers experience in Varsity Matches will grow as the season goes on. The Rangers were able to get a few games off of the Lions in those positions, but were not able to get the job done. The only position that was able to get the job done was the experienced 1 Doubles position of Alex Fischer and Eli Brockman. After getting themselves down in the first set 5-6, the duo was able to win the next game to force a 7-point tiebreaker. The Rangers won the tie breaker 7-4 and was able to steal the first set. The second set was just as close with both teams mostly winning their serves. The score was 5-4 in favor of the Rangers in the second set with the Rangers winning the next game to win the match.
