Rangers Top WRV in Scrimmage

August 14 | Forest Park High School — The Forest Park Rangers showed early-season form in a four-period scrimmage against White River Valley on Thursday evening, winning two and tying one of the four segments before narrowly falling in a round of penalty kicks. In the opening 25-minute period, the Rangers struck first and held strong defensively, earning a 1-0 win on a goal from Geo Zelaya. Forest Park controlled much of the play with four additional shots on target. Goalie Dexter Meyer stopped the only shot he faced to preserve the clean sheet. The second period saw more offensive action from both sides, finishing in a 2-2 draw. Luke Meunier and Aiden Stenftenagel each found the back of the net for Forest Park, with Bryant Cooper picking up an assist. The Rangers fired off seven shots on target in the frame, while Parker Wolf made one save in goal. Forest Park turned up the pressure in the third period, claiming a 2-0 win with goals from Hunter Osborne and a second tally from Meunier. The Rangers launched an impressive 15 shots on target in the third stretch, while Dexter Meyer added four saves to cap a strong performance in net. In the final round of penalty kicks, White River Valley edged Forest Park 7-6. The Rangers will kick off PAC (Pocket Athletic Conference) play this Saturday in Evansville with a 9 a.m. ET match against Mount Vernon.
