For the end of season tournament, the Junior High Boys V Soccer team was placed in a bracket with three other teams who had similar results this season. They opened the tournament with a Tuesday weekday game against Seven Oaks Academy. The Rangers controlled the early moments of the game and took an early lead when Zander Reyling -Schwartz headed Blake Morrison’s corner kick into the net. The Rangers continued to create opportunities but were not able to increase their lead. Late in the first half, Seven Oaks leveled the game with a well-placed strike from the top of the eighteen. The Rangers took the lead again in the second half, when Zach Cummings found Ryder Winters, who sent a shot over the goalie’s head and into the net. Seven Oaks looked poised to equalize when their forward found some daylight, but Gaige Schnell made a huge save for the Rangers. The Rangers were able to see the game out with possession and diligent defensive play to preserve a 2-1 win. The Rangers will play two more tournament games on Saturday to finish their season.
