On Thursday 9/24, the Forest Park junior high girls team met up with Jasper's JV squad in their last match before heading into the tournament. Jaci Verkamp (7th) put the Rangers on the board in the first half with an assist from Paisley Foerster (6th). Foerster employed some skillful footwork to get into penalty area before sending a shot over the goalkeeper and off the far post. Verkamp read the ball perfectly and knocked it down with her chest before sending it into the net. Unfortunately, the Wildcats put the game out of reach with their third goal in the last minute of the match to win 3-1. Forest Park heads into the post-season tournament as a top-8 team and will square off with other group B opponents: Southridge, Gibson Southern and Sullivan. The Rangers and Raiders meet on Monday 9/28 as Jasper Middle School at 6:00pm.
