FP Boys Tennis Wins Nail-biter vs County Rival Northeast Dubois The Forest Park Boys Tennis team was back in action on Tuesday evening vs County Rival Northeast Dubois at Home. Before the match, AD Hasenour, members of the School Board, Dr. Thompson, and Dr. Pund all came and had a Ceremony for our new courts. Coach Hochgesang and those members of the school are very pleased with how the courts turned out! After this recognition to everyone that made the courts possible, the Rangers had business to handle. With the Rangers winnnig 5-0 vs the Chargers on Monday, Coach Hochgesang wanted to keep this going. After losing a very big heartbreaker vs the Jeeps last year, the Rangers were out for redemption. Forest Park's 1 Singles Sophomore, Jace Brockman, had a tough night vs a veteran Senior in Beck. Beck has been at one singles for many years now and does not have many weaknesses. Jace knew coming into this match it would be a tough one, but he tried his best and had some good points. FP's 2 Singles (Miles Rea) match was the match of the night. This contest started at 4:30pm and did not get over until 7:00 yesterday evening. Miles started the match with confidence and up 4-1, but then quickly lost his groove. Miles ended up losing the first set, but never gave up. Rea picked up his game and adjusted in the second set to win another close battle. with the team match score tied at 2-2, both coaches agreed on a full third set. Miles was able to start very well getting up 3-0, and then 5-3. Miles finished the night with a W and won this battle vs Dubois for the team! FP's 3 Singles, Trey Benton, struggled to get in any groove against a confident Freshman. Benton started the match close, but then fell quickly in both sets. This match was definitely a learning experience for the young Freshman. FP's 1 Doubles pair of Eli Brockman and Clayton Roesner got the job done pretty easily vs two Freshmen. The duo was able to be the first win for the Rangers off the courts. Eli and Clayton played together and never looked back. The Rangers 2 Doubles pair of Jace Betz and Drew Fischer had two battles in both sets. The Ranger duo was able to adjust and find weaknesses in the Dubois team. Scores vs Northeast Dubois: 1S: Jace Brockman lost to C. Beck 0-6, 0-6 2S: Miles Rea beat K. Kalb 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 3S: Trey Benton lost to T. Woolems 2-6, 2-6 1D: Eli Brockman and Clayton Roesner beat Reckelhoff and Brosmer 6-0, 6-2 2D: Jace Betz and Drew Fischer beat Pankey and Hopf 6-3, 6-4 The Forest Park Boys Tennis team was able to pull this nail-biter out for Coach Hochgesang on his birthday! The Rangers look to finish this week on a positive note with a match at PAC foe North Posey on Thursday.
