FP Boys Tennis Sweeps South Spencer 5-0 The Forest Park Boys Tennis team had their third straight match of the week on Thursday evening at South Spencer. The Rangers traveled to Rockport to play the Rebels, that only had 3 players on their team. SS went out with their 3 players in all of the Singles positions. Coach Hochgesang kept the same lineup he has been using with Jace Brockman, Miles Rea, and Trey Benton all playing in their Singles positions. Jace Brockman played 1 Singles vs SS's only Senior. Jace started the match not how he wanted to and had the score of 3-2. After a short talk with Coach Hochgesang, Jace was able to win 9 straight games to win his match. Jace, Sophomore, has learned a lot about the 1 Singles position and continues to play well after getting comfortable. Miles Rea played 2 Singles vs SS's only Sophomore. Miles cruised past his opponent with great forehand strokes. Miles only lost 1 game in his match due to double faults. Rea continues to play well! Trey Benton played 3 Singles vs SS's only Junior. Trey started both sets up 2-1, and won 4 straight games in both sets. Trey played with great control and pace. Eli Brockman and Clayton Roesner, at 1 Doubles, won due to forfeit. Jace Betz and Drew Fischer, at 2 Doubles, also won due to forfeit. Varsity Scores vs South Spencer : 1 Singles : Jace Brockman beat R. Seneff 6-2, 6-0 2 Singles : Miles Rea beat L. FP plays Heritage Hills at home, at Evansville Central, and at Tell City for a Double-Header with Mount Vernon as well. The season starts to get really busy and tough.
