In a game that had many highs and lows, the football team rallied together for the W against Mt. Vernon. A true group effort in all three phases. Offense was led by Junior Anden Uebelhor who was efficient through the air, and made smart decisions on the ground to tuck and run. The offensive line was dominant for our backs that consisted of Hudson King, Carter Jochem, and Hudson Lueken. Though the air, Cam Lueken, Hudson King, H. Lueken, and Steven Reinke held true to being threats last night. Special teams were crucial as freshman Kale King forced a muffed punt return and recovering it, setting up the offense for a go ahead score. Nathan Verkamp blocked a field goal attempt. Parker Wolf was 2/2 on PATs. It was a game of field position, as punts by Hudson King were favorable for us. Defense flew around causing chaos for Mt. Vernon. After an early slip up, things tightened up, and they forced a safety later on. On all 3 levels, they did a solid job of limiting Mt. Vernon's offense. Riley Begle and Caleb Sickbert each had a sack that put them behind the sticks. The game came down to a field goal attempt for Mt. Vernon, but defense held strong, and the RANGERS WON!! Hats off to all of the players, as a lot of young guys were relied on to come in and do their job! Come out to Perry Central next Friday! GO RANGERS!
