FP Boys Tennis Sweeps Princeton 5-0 The Forest Park Boys Tennis team was back in action at home vs a PAC foe in Princeton on Thursday evening. The Rangers were looking to bounce back after a tough first match vs Loogootee on Tuesday. Last year when FP went to Princeton to play them, they only had 2 players, but the Tigers upgraded their roster this year with 10 guys. The Rangers kept their same lineup as Tuesday evening, and FP was able to get the job done! Jace Brockman, 1 Singles, started his match a little slow with some unforced errors vs a much improved Junior, but settled in and played his game. Jace was able to win points with consistency and confidence. Miles Rea, 2 Singles, also started a little sluggish, but kicked it into gear when he got loose. Miles was able to set points up a lot better than Tuesday evening. He also finished his volleys a lot better as well. Trey Benton, 3 Singles, played with confidence vs Princeton vs another strong Freshman. Trey played with a great mix and hit his spots on the court very well. Eli Brockman and Clayton Roesner, 1 Doubles, were able to get the job done by only giving up 3 games to their opponents. With this being their first year playing together, Coach Hochgesang has just been trying to get them more comfortable playing with each other. Jace Betz and Drew Fischer, 2 Doubles, played more as a team vs Princeton. Coach was happy with the adjustment they made from Tuesday's match. Franklin & E. Cederholm 6-2, 6-2 JV Scores vs Princeton: 1 Singles : Preston Englert lost to G. Cox 1-4 2 Singles : Parker Schnarr beat C. Dewig 4-0 1 Doubles : Harrison Gutgsell & Colton Osborn beat M. Sink & G. Cox 4-1 2 Doubles : Brayton & Zaden Fromme lost to C. Dewig & M. Sink 2-4 The Rangers are now 1-1 on the season going into the North Harrison Tournament which is an all day tourney on Saturday! FP finished 2nd last year and look to win it this year.
