Forest Park Boys Tennis Lost Their Season Opener to Loogootee After their scrimmage with Northeast Dubois on Thursday evening, the Rangers welcomed the Loogootee Lions to their brand new courts on Tuesday, August 18th. FP was tasked with starting with a very consistent and good team in Loogootee for their first official match of the season. Coach Hochgesang was looking for a few different things when watching the matchup with the Lions, and he wanted his team to compete and show fight. The Rangers, still a very young team, struggled to get in a groove with the Loogootee team as they did not make many mistakes. FP is filled with a bunch of Sophomores and Freshmen while also having two seniors at 1 Doubles. Jace Brockman, Sophomore at 1 Singles, had the closest match on the night but was tasked with a player that returned every ball. Miles Rea, Sophomore at 2 Singles, has been battling some back tightness as he struggled in the first set to get in the groove. Trey Benton, Freshman at 3 Singles, played a consistent Junior that gave Trey some fits. Eli Brockman and Clayton Roesner, Seniors at 1 Doubles, started their match well but soon started to not finish games as most got to Deuce. Drew Fischer and Jace Betz, Sophomores at 2 Doubles, struggled to keep the Lions off of the net.
