On a steamy Saturday morning, the Forest Park Lady Rangers began their campaign against PAC Conference opponent Mt. Vernon. The turf at the beautiful Best Home Furnishings Stadium was warm, but the Lady Rangers game was on fire. The Lady Rangers got onto the scoreboard in the 8th minute courtesy of senior Paige Memmer, who collected a pass from junior Kenley Schipp, and fired a left-footed shot from 25 yards out that beat the Wildcat Keeper. The home-side doubled their advantage just minutes later when senior Avari Boeglin found the head of sophomore Makenna Morrison for clinical heading finish. The Lady Rangers would add a third in the 27' courtesy of another Kenley Schipp assist to senior Sydney Berger, who slotted it far bar past the keeper. The home side would end the first period with three goals to the good. The second half saw the Lady Rangers asking more questions of the backline of the Lady Wildcats; however, they were unable to see their chances come to fruition until the 45th minute when Margrethe Langelund-Arnstrup finished an Avari Boeglin corner. Unfortunately, the Lady Rangers also conceded on a corner in the 50'. The home side would have the last goal, however, when Kenley Schipp found the head of Avari Boeglin from a corner in the 77'. The Lady Rangers (1-0; 1-0 (PAC)) are back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to potential sectional opponent Evansville Christian. This fixture is slated for a 6:30PM (EST) kickoff. Goals: Sydney Berger, Avari Boeglin, Margrethe Langelund-Arnstrup, Paige Memmer, Makenna Morrison Assists: Kenley Schipp 3, Avari Boeglin 2
