7th Grade Boys Basketball Beats Springs Valley 40-13 The Forest Park 7th Grade Boys Basketball team played their first game of the week on Tuesday evening at home vs Springs Valley. With a win in their previous game vs Mount Vernon, the Rangers were looking to win their 5th game of the season. The Rangers were able to do that with ease vs SV, beating them 40-13. The first half for the Rangers was pretty well, as FP was up 20-2 going into the third quarter. At halftime, Coach Hochgesang said the Rangers were still playing a little sloppy and not finishing their layups like they should. FP got in the passing lanes and forced a lot of Springs Valley turnovers, but had a difficult time finishing some of those layups. The second half went the same was as the first half, as the Rangers scored 20 more points to Springs Valleys 11. The Rangers won this game 40-13 and brought some confidence to this group of boys. Coach Hochgesang was able to get all of his boys in the game to play and 10 of the 14 players were able to score in this game. FP also only had 4 turnovers in this game but only shot 5/15 from the free throw line. It felt good to get this win as a team, and hopefully this will give the team confidence to beat a good Heritage Hills team on Thursday evening at home!
