Ferdinand, Ind. — The Forest Park 8th Grade Boys split their matchups with Northeast Dubois on Thursday night at the Forest Park Junior High Gym. The “A” team saw its four-game winning streak snapped with a 44–39 loss to the Jeeps, while the B team bounced back with a 34–26 victory. In the A game, the Rangers (9–6 overall, 8–1 PAC) struggled out of the gate, scoring just 7 points on three field goals in the first half and trailing by 13 at halftime. Forest Park made a strong push in the fourth quarter, outscoring Northeast Dubois 22–16 and cutting the deficit to three points with under a minute remaining. The comeback attempt stalled, however, as foul trouble proved costly, with starters Blake Vaught and Hudson Lueken fouling out late. Lueken led the Rangers in scoring with 9 points. In the night’s second contest, the Forest Park B team controlled the action and earned a 34–26 win over the Jeeps. Kale King led all scorers with 12 points, helping improve the B team’s record to 4–1. All 12 Rangers contributed offensively across the two games.
