The 7th grade Lady Rangers pulled off a thrilling 25–23 victory over a tough and resilient Loogootee Lions squad at Forest Park on Thursday evening. The game came down to the final seconds, with Madelyn Berg driving home the winning layup as the buzzer sounded off a full‑court inbounds pass from Elsie Warren. Berg led the Rangers with 12 points, including the decisive basket, while Raylee Weyer added 8 points—four of them crucial in the closing minutes—and Warren chipped in 5. Weyer was strong again on the boards with 7 rebounds (3 offensive), supported by Berg (3), Annabell Geisler and Maci Combs (2 each), and Schmuecker and Warren (1 apiece). Defensively, Berg set the tone with 6 steals, Combs added 4, and Geisler, Warren, and Weyer each had 3. Despite struggling to find their rhythm early and trailing by four at halftime, the Lady Rangers showed grit and determination to rally back. With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 5–1 on the season. They hope to carry their momentum into next Tuesday’s matchup at Tell City.
